"Assessing Fundamental Power Differences in Exchange Networks: Iterative GPI" by Lovaglia, Skvoretz, Markovsky, and Willer extends Network Exchange Theory and proposes a method that may accelerate the pace of exchange research.

Both the content of the paper and its authorship prompt editorial comment. It happens that CRISP's first two issues involve exchange networks. This does NOT imply that CRISP is a specialized journal focusing on social exchange or even group processes. We are actively seeking manuscripts in all areas of social psychology. In fact, many papers by networks researchers and by organizations researchers have a social psychological component and are welcome at CRISP. If you have a short manuscript that is related to social psychology in some way, please consider sending it to me,

Two authors of the second issue, Barry and I, are editors of CRISP. We have taken care to insure the integrity of the review process. Acting as an author, I submitted the manuscript to Lisa Troyer, the associate editor who was not involved with the paper. She sought three reviews, more than the usual two, because the paper was outside her field of expertise. The reviewers' identities were kept from the authors. She informed me that all three reviews recommended publication.

I hope you find the journal useful and please send me a manuscript.

Michael Lovaglia CRISP Editor
